Tricks for cleaning rust out of an old fuel tank

Looking for advice on any good tricks for cleaning a fuel tank out that belongs to an old Oliver. Thinking about a small chain and shake it up to knock all the rust off. Also open to any ideas on how to treat it after getting the rust off. Thanks. Oliver 66 tractor.
